Washington English Center is a community-based program that offers English and literacy training to low-income adult immigrants in the greater Washington area. Our mission is to provide excellent and affordable English classes and other workforce programs to adult immigrants using volunteer instructors.

Chris Griffey Memorial Feline Fund Charity Ride

Chris was a dedicated team member and friend. He spent much of his life helping those on need (both human and animal). We would like to carry on this tradition in his name. The memorial foundation provides local rescues and shelters an outlet for neonate kittens (less than 6 weeks) the medical care they deserve instead of euthanasia. We have currently rescued over 150 high risk/critical patients with the foundation.

Bite Me Cancer Charity Ride

Bite Me Cancer was founded in 2010 by Nikki Ferraro when she was 17 years old and diagnosed with a rare form of thyroid cancer. Bite Me Cancer's mission is to fight cancer through research, education, and inspiration. The 2 main projects are: (1) send Teen Support Bags filled with teen-specific items to teenagers with any kind of cancer across the country. Currently, bags are sent to 80 hospitals in 34 states and DC, (2) directly fund thyroid cancer research grants where we have specific doctors working to find cures and better treatment options for this fast increasing cancer. Currently, we are collecting funds for our 5th research grant. www.bitemecancer.org

Founded in 2007, Indego Africa's mission is to help artisans in Africa break cycles of poverty and achieve sustainable financial independence. Indego partners with more than 1,000 artisans in Rwanda & Ghana to help them bring their products to the international market, generate income, and develop the skills to succeed in the global economy. Indego pools 100% of the proceeds from product sales with grants and donations to fund custom business education & leadership programs for its artisan partners.

The Yellow Ribbon Fund (YRF) is a grass-roots, 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 2005 and based in Bethesda, Maryland, with national reach. We provide practical, direct support to recovering warriors and caregivers at Walter Reed and Fort Belvoir and vital assistance throughout their transition back to their home communities.

Since our inception in 2005, we have averaged nearly 83 cents of every dollar spent going directly to programs and services for recovering warriors and caregivers, and we have been recognized by the Catalogue for Philanthropy as "one of the best charities in the DC region". We are currently expanding our efforts nationally, to include an emphasis on support to Caregivers and Wellness through Adaptive Athletics.

Girls on the Run of Montgomery County (GOTR is an independent council of Girls on the Run International. GOTR MoCo was established in 2007 by Eve Mills. Today, GOTR MoCo serves nearly 5,000 girls each year with the support of approxinamtely 600 coaches each season. GOTR MoCo has served more than 25,000 girls over the past ten years and has provided over 1 million dollars in financial assistance to families in need.
